The GMC 6x6 was built for the US Army as part of a standardization program begun in 1939, which allowed for only two of each type of vehicle to be considered, and emphasized commonality of parts and accessories wherever possible.

The Sherman VVSS had at least 14 different types of track, and there was another Three types for the HVSS. Most of the track types changes were ways to minimize the amount of rubber used  or  attempts to produce an all steel track as good as the basic rubber T41 and steel T49 track.

The Wurfrahmen 40 ("launch frame 40") was a German World War II multiple rocket launcher. It combined a vehicle such as the Sd.Kfz. 251 halftrack or captured French Renault UE Chenillette with rocket artillery to form a more mobile and protected artillery piece than the towed Nebelwerfer. It was nicknamed Stuka zu Fuss ("Stuka on Foot" or "Walking Stuka") and Heulende Kuh ("Bellowing Cow").

This had not materialized and on September 22nd, 1942, it was decided that the StuG with 200mm frontal armor and the long 8.8cm gun should be immediately designed, with the Tiger(P) as the basis, and part of the Tiger(P) production diverted for the vehicle.

The High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) is a U.S. light multiple rocket launcher system mounted on a truck. HIMARS carries six rockets or one ATACMS missile on the US Army's new FMTV five-ton truck, and can launch the entire MLRS family of munitions. HIMARS is interchangeable with the MLRS M270A1, carrying half the rocket load.

The first generation T-34 medium tank made its debut in combat during the summer of 1941, when the Wehrmacht launched its invasion of the Soviet Union. The T-34 easily outclassed the German PzKpfw III and IV models, thanks to its hard-hitting 76.2mm main gun, thick frontal armor, wide tracks, and overall superior mobility.
