The Lancia IZ and the Lancia IZM were two variations of an Italian armored car built during World War I and which saw limited service during that war, the interwar period, and during World War II.
Nicknamed the "Jug" for its bulky shape, the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was considered a monster of a machine. Despite its size, the Thunderbolt proved to be a fast and maneuverable warbird able to hold its own in combat. In fact, when Allied pilots climbed aboard a P-47, they knew the were in control of a fighting machine with enormous power.
The Third Battle of Kharkov was the last major strategic German victory of World War II. Kharkov had originally been captured on October 25th, 1941, but had fallen to the Soviets in February 1943, following the German defeat at the Battle of Stalingrad.
The Sukhoi PAK FA (Russian: Perspektivny Aviatsionny Kompleks Frontovoy Aviatsii, literally "Prospective Airborne Complex of Frontline Aviation") is a twin-engine jet fighter being developed by Sukhoi for the Russian Air Force. The Sukhoi T-50 is the prototype for PAK FA. The PAK FA is one of only a handful of stealth jet programs worldwide.
During the late 1960's a number of European countries examined ways to replace their existing fleet of combat aircraft using next-generation design techniques. Several countries looked at variable geometry wing configurations as a means of making a plane perform well throughout a wider flight envelope.
Triumph's Scrambler 1200 XC and XE models try to plant a foot in two separate moto worlds, and they mostly succeed. By looks alone, you'd peg these as classically styled casual scrambler rigs, but dig deeper - and take a gander at the price tag - and you'll wonder if maybe they're meant more for the hardcore adventure crowd.
