Unimax Flies High this Fall
In a bid to take their highly successful Battle Beam series to the aviation world, Unimax will soon be offering a pair of remote controlled helicopters for the holiday season. Expected some time in October, the duo includes a 3-channel AH-64A Apache attack helicopter and a CH-47 Chinook transport helo, both painted in a green camouflage pattern. Unimax Adds More Punch to its R/C Range
Remember that Madison Avenue pitch line, "Where's the beef?" Well, Unimax is showing us some Grade A tenderloin in the form of a 1:24 scale radio controlled M1A1 Abrams tank (UNI424591H). Due out in September, this all-new addition to the Battle Beam series is compatible with all of the other upcoming or previously released vehicles in their radio-controlled line. As you might expect, the Abrams will feature digital proportional tank drive enabling it to go forward and reverse, as well as turn and spin and can accompany up to six tanks into battle for team-based play. Early in June 1944, Army commanders expressed a need for a new breed of tank that could mount either a 90mm or 105mm main gun. This request was approved by the Army Staff soon thereafter even though trials of the new T26E1 had already begun back at Fort Knox earlier that year.
