Panzerstahl PS88009 German Flakpanzer IV Ostwind Anti-Aircraft Gun - Prototype, September 1944 (1:72 Scale)
"If the tank succeeds, then victory follows."
- Major-General Heinz Guderian, "Achtung Panzer!"
On August 18th, 1944, an order was placed for 100 Ostwind ("East Wind") anti-aircraft vehicles, after successful trials had been held the previous month. Replacing the Wirbelwind, the Ostwind I provided the panzertruppen with the more effective 3.7cm FlaK43 gun mounted within an armored turret. As the war wore on, both the Ostwind I and the Mobelwagen were to be replaced by the Kugelblitz, but because of delays, only two Kugelblitz were produced. Seven chassis originally earmarked for the Kugelblitz were instead used to produce the Ostwind I.
This particular 1:72 scale replica of a Flakpanzer IV Ostwind anti-aircraft gun represents the prototype vehicle built in September 1944. Sold Out!
