Standardized in June, 1944, the Gun Motor Carriage M36 was a modification of the 3-inch Gun Motor Carriage, M10A1, and was designed to provide a more powerful self-propelled anti-tank gun. The M36 "Jackson" was equipped with a potent 90mm gun that was mounted within a semi-open top turret with 360-degree power traverse.

In preparations for the Ardennes Offensive in the winter of 1944, around 10 Ausf Gs were converted to resemble American Gun Motor Carriage M10 tank destroyer. The conversion was done by welding additional metal sheets to the turret and hull along with application of US Army camouflage and markings.

The Republic F-84 Thunderjet was an American-built turbojet fighter-bomber aircraft. Originating as a 1944 United States Air Force proposal for a "day fighter," the F-84 flew in 1946. Although it entered service in 1947, the Thunderjet was plagued by so many structural and engine problems that a 1948 Air Force review declared it unable to execute any aspect of its intended mission and considered cancelling the program.
