Dragon DRW56111 NASA Apollo 11 Saturn V Rocket [40th Anniversary] (1:400 Scale)
"That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind."
- Apollo 11 commander, Neil Armstrong, as he stepped onto the surface of the moon, July 21st, 1969
The Apollo 11 mission landed the first humans on the Moon. Launched on July 16th, 1969, the third lunar mission of NASA's Apollo Program was crewed by Commander Neil Alden Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin Eugene 'Buzz' Aldrin, Jr. On July 20th, Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the Moon, while Collins orbited in the Command Module.
The mission fulfilled President John F. Kennedy's goal of reaching the moon by the end of the 1960s, which he had expressed during a speech given before a joint session of Congress on May 25, 1961: "I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth."
On July 21st, 1969 the Apollo 11 Saturn V successfully achieved its mission to land the first man on the moon and return to Earth safely. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this historic significance, Dragon decided to relaunch the 1/400 Apollo 11 Saturn V Anniversary Set. Sold Out!
