The Helferinen (nurses) are a Catholic religious order for women. The apostolic community was in 1856 in Paris by Eugnie Smet founded. The full name of the Order is "Congregation of the assistants of the souls in purgatory" (French Societ des Auxiliatrices of mes Purgatory, abbreviated "SA"). are now about 70 sisters in Germany, Austria, Romania, Hungary and India the assistants, worldwide, around 700 women involved in this religious community. The sisters go to different professions.
The spirituality , the spiritual life of the community is shaped by the person and the goals of St. Ignatius of Loyola , the founder of the Jesuit order and is therefore referred to as "Ignatian Spirituality".
The historical roots of the assistants are on the threshold of modern times , they are influenced by the then exchange perspective of intellectual history, especially of the turn to individual, specific to each individual.
