Gaso.Line Central Powers Armament

Gaso.Line has developed an extensive line of diecast and resin military vehicles that, in many instances, marries a chassis from the Solido/Verem line with specially designed resin parts produced by Gaso.Line. All of the vehicles you see here are produced in limited runs, sometimes numbering only a few dozen pieces, making them valuable additions to any military enthusiast's collection. These vehicles are built and imported directly from France, making them hard to come by in the North American marketplace.

In the autumn of 1917, a light tank called the Mark A was ready to be used on the Western Front. Nicknamed the Whippet, it was faster than previous tanks, particularly the ponderous Mark IV, but was still unreliable and vulnerable to artillery fire. Weighing in at 18 tons, it could traverse ground at nearly double the speed of its heavier counterpart, clocking in at a blistering 6 mph.

The Sturmpanzerwagen A7V was an enormous vehicle, hurriedly designed following the appearance of British tanks in 1916. Ground clearance was only 40mm (1.57 inches) and the length of the track on the ground was too short for a vehicle of its size. The result was an unstable vehicle with poor cross-country performance.

The British Mark IV "Male" heavy tank was an up-armored version of the Mark I, with all of its fuel stored in a single external tank (located between the rear track horns) in an attempt to improve crew safety. The sponsons could be pushed in to reduce the width of the tank for rail transportation and rails could be carried on the roof to act as an unditching beam.
