US M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) - Unidentified Unit, Operation Iraqi Freedom, 2003 German Sd. Kfz. 142 Sturmhaubitze 42 Ausf. G Assault Gun - Unidentified Unit, Germany, 1945

The MLRS M270 Launcher, a derivative of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV), is the standard U.S. Army platform for firing surface to surface artillery rockets and missiles. The Armored Vehicle Mounted Rocket Launcher (M270) is a full-tracked, self-propelled launcher/loader designed to launch 12 tactical rockets and re-deploy before the enemy determines its launch position ('shoot and scoot').

The German Sturmgeschutz (StuG) was one of the most successful armored fighting vehicles of the Second World War. It arose from an original concept of the pre-war panzer divisions, whereby a special vehicle for infantry support work was planned.

Imperial Japanese Army Mitsubishi G4M1 Betty Medium Bomber German Sd. Kfz. 162/1 Jagdpanzer IV L/70 Tank Destroyer - Unidentified Unit, Eastern Front, 1944

The Mitsubishi G4M (Allied identification name of Betty) was a twin-engined, land-based bomber aircraft used by the Imperial Japanese Navy in World War II. The bomber was nicknamed "Betty" by the allies, who usually dubbed Japanese fighters and float-planes with male code names, while typically giving female names to Japanese bombers and reconnaissance planes.

The Jagdpanzer IV L/70 (A) Zwischenlosung was the last tank to enter service with the Wehrmacht in September 1944. Essentially, German tank designers placed a Jagdpanzer IV turret on a Panzer IV chassis then fitted it with a powerful 75mm L/70(A) gun. The Zwischenlosung proved to be an excellent tank killer even though only 278 vehicles were built by war's end.

1942 Production US Army GMC CCKW 353 6x6 2-1/2 Ton Truck - Unidentified Unit, Normandy, 1944 USAAF Martin B-26B Marauder Medium Bomber

The GMC 6x6 was built for the US Army as part of a standardization program begun in 1939, which allowed for only two of each type of vehicle to be considered, and emphasized commonality of parts and accessories wherever possible.

The Martin B-26 Marauder was one of the most controversial American combat aircraft of the Second World War. It was primarily used in Europe, and was in fact numerically the most important USAAF medium bomber used in that theatre of action. However, on four occasions, investigation boards had met to decide if the development and production of the Marauder should continue.
